During his interview with media at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama this week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones piqued the interest of a star player on the squad.
As the Cowboys' choice to retain head coach Mike McCarthy was being discussed, Jones expressed his belief that the club is "hanging around the rim" and is determined to do everything it takes to score. This came after a devastating playoff defeat to the Packers.
"I believe we will make a big splash," Jones stated, as reported by Jon Machota of TheAthletic.com.
Going all out for new folks is going to be different from what you've done before. We're fully committed.
Micah Parsons, a linebacker, heard Jones criticize the club's strategy and expressed his desire that the team would reciprocate on his podcast, The Edge.
They say we're putting our "all in" this year. Parsons expressed his desire for that outcome. It's the year 2024. Over the course of my three years in this league, I've pretty much witnessed it all. May we dive headfirst.
Since we failed to do so last year, I'm crossing my fingers that we go out and acquire the players we're lacking. I want for us the opportunity to push ourselves to improve and reach new heights.
The Cowboys' loss was deemed "completely embarassing and unacceptable" by Parsons, who likely anticipates a strong response from the squad.
