What do we know about the Antichrist?

LET'S START

The idea of an end-of-times figure known as the "Antichrist" goes back centuries. But can we be sure that the Antichrist is a male?

Is he the antichrist who imitates Jesus' miracles to deceive the masses before bringing about the end of the world?

The Antichrist is not mentioned in the Bible very frequently. Only in I John (2:18), 2:22, 4:3, and II John 7 does the term "antichrist" appear at all.

However, the Antichrist is not a singular figure mentioned in John's gospel. Several non-Christians, or "antichrists," are named in his writings.

It is written in 1 John 4:3: "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God.

This is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."

As it says in Matthew 24:24, "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if it were possible, even the elect.

The Book of Revelation adds some spice by mentioning beasts and the number 666, albeit neither of these things have any direct bearing on the Antichrist.
