Marble cake recipe

Chocolate and vanilla cake batter are swirled to make this two-layer marble cake. Rich, creamy chocolate frosting tops it off! 

– 2 cups (250 grams) all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled) – 3 tablespoons (40 grams) granulated sugar – 1 tablespoon baking powder

Ingredient

– ½ teaspoon salt – 1 ¾ cups (420 ml) whole milk – ⅓ cup (80 ml) canola or vegetable oil – 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract – 2 large eggs (room temperature and separated)

Direction

Preheat and set aside the waffle maker. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Set aside. Whisk milk, oil, vanilla extract, and egg yolks in a large bowl until combined.

Just combine dry and wet ingredients. Whisk egg whites in a clean bowl until stiff. Just mix egg whites and batter. Spray waffle maker nonstick.

Pour batter into the hot waffle iron, close the lid, and cook until crisp and golden brown. Use remaining batter. Warm with pure maple syrup, fruit, or toppings.
