Our Apple Crumble Pie has a buttery, flaky crust, sweet and luscious apple filling, and a buttery crumb topping. This meal is great for fall but can be eaten year-round!
– 1¼ cups all-purpose flour spooned & leveled (160 grams)– 1 teaspoon granulated sugar– ½ teaspoon salt– ½ cup cold Danish Creamery European Style unsalted butter cubed (115 grams)– ¼ cup ice water (60 ml)
Ingredient
Direction
Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl to form the pie crust. Add cold cubed butter. Use a pastry cutter or fork to chop them into pea-sized crumbs (some larger pieces are good).
1
Gently stir in one tablespoon of ice water (may not need ¼ cup) until the dough comes together. Pack the dough into a ball on a lightly floured surface.
2
Form a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least one hour. Unwrap the pie crust from the fridge. Roll the dough to 12" diameter.
3
Carefully fit the dough into a 9-inch pie pan, remove any excess, and adorn the edges. Put in the fridge while you make the filling and topping.
