The Labrador Retriever has been dethroned as America's favorite dog breed, after 30 years at the top.
The French Bulldog has taken the number one spot, rising from fourth place in 2015.
The Bulldog also saw a surge in popularity, moving up to fourth place from sixth.

The German Shepherd remains a popular breed, coming in second place.
The American Kennel Club notes that the popularity of certain breeds can be influenced by pop culture and celebrity ownership.
