Gooey Quesadilla Burgers Recipe

The quesadilla burger, sandwiched between two delicious quesadillas, has been on Applebee's menu for over 20 years. We don't know who originated it.

Ingredient

– 1 pound 80% lean ground beef – 1 small yellow onion, finely diced – 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder – 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder – 1 teaspoon salt – ¼ teaspoon black pepper – ¼ teaspoon ground mustard seed – 2 tablespoons ketchup – 1 tablespoon mayonnaise – 1 tablespoon sriracha – 8 flour tortilla – 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided – 1 tomato, sliced into ¼ inch-thick round – 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce

Heat a big cast iron pan on medium.Mix ground beef, onion, and seasonings and make 4 patties.

Grill the burgers for three to four minutes on each side, or until they're done the way you like them.

Mix the ketchup, mayonnaise, and sriracha together while the burgers are cooking.

Wipe fat from the cast iron pan using a paper towel.Add 2 tablespoons cheese to a tortilla over medium heat. Cover the cheese with a burger patty and a tablespoon of sauce.

Combine a piece of tomato and ¼ of chopped romaine with the quesadilla burger. Once the cheese melts, remove from pan and put aside.

Sprinkle 2 tablespoons cheese on another tortilla in the griddle. Melt the cheese and toast the tortilla bottom. Put the tortilla, cheese side down, atop the lettuce-topped burger to make a sandwich.

Repeat until all 4 quesadilla burgers are created. Serve half-sliced immediately.
