You can make these Oreo dirt cups at home instead of buying the store-bought kind. It's easy to change this treat to fit any holiday!
– 1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams)– ⅓ cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder (30 grams)– ¼ cup cornstarch (32 grams)– ¼ teaspoon salt– 3 ½ cups whole milk– 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (45 grams)– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Ingredient
– 1 cup heavy whipping cream (240 ml)– 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (15 grams)– 18 Oreos regular or double stuf– 16 to 24 gummy worm
Direction
Mix the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt in a large pot. Carefully pour the milk into the pot with the dry ingredients, whisking until well incorporated.
1
Turn the mixture often over medium heat to boil (scrape bottom and sides with a rubber spatula). Let boil for 1 minute to thicken and coat spoon or spatula.
2
After cooling, add butter one spoonful at a time and vanilla. It should be filtered into a heatproof basin with a fine-mesh strainer. Fridge the custard with plastic wrap for 2–3 hours.
3
Mix powdered sugar and heavy whipping cream in a clean basin. Mix low to medium with a handheld or stand mixer whisk attachment for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then medium-high until stiff peaks form.
4
Half the whipped cream into the chocolate pudding until just incorporated, then add the remainder until fully integrated. Blend or grind Oreos into fine crumbs.
5
Fill eight 9-10 ounce cups with ⅓ cup chocolate pudding. Spoon-mix it evenly. Scatter 1 ½ tablespoons of crumbled Oreos crumbs on top of each pudding layer in each cup.
