I know Zach Orr's ascension to coordinator will be beneficial for us, says Roquan Smith.

Zach Orr was elevated from his position as the inside linebackers coach to that of defensive coordinator by the Baltimore Ravens shortly after Mike Macdonald left the team to take over as head coach of the Pacific Northwest Seahawks.

Following the conclusion of his playing career in Baltimore due to an injury after only three seasons, Orr, who is now 31 years old, began his coaching career with the Ravens in 2017. After serving as the coach of the outside linebackers for the Jaguars in 2021, he returned to the Ravens in 2022 to take up the position of inside linebackers coach for the team.

This indicates that Orr has spent a significant amount of time in the company of Roquan Smith, a linebacker, over the course of the past two seasons. Smith stated his eagerness for Orr to take over as DC in a message that was just posted by the organization.

According to Smith, "I have an enormous amount of respect for 'ZO' and the way that he goes about his work, day in and day out." Although it is sad that his career was cut short due to an accident, I believe that he brings the same level of dedication to the game of football as well as to teaching.

The saying "you never know which day will be your last" is something that he seems to live by. He believes that you should give everything you have while you still have it.

Yes, I am overjoyed for him," she said. The enthusiasm he brings to the field, off the field, and in the meeting room, along with his football IQ and the ability to connect with players, are all things that he brings to the table. I believe that, all things considered, he is a pretty fantastic match for our defense since he is still very young and has just lately begun playing in the game.

He is respected by everyone in the building, and it is not only because of the things that he says; it is also because of the things that he does and the manner that he handles situations. I believe that it is going to be really beneficial for our defense, and I am very excited about him being the one to lead the charge. Because I am aware that his mindset is somewhat like to mine, I am really excited. I have no doubt that it is going to be terrific for both of us.

Over the course of the 2023 season, Smith led the Ravens in total tackles with 158, while Orr served as his position coach. Five tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, 1.5 sacks, eight passes defensed, an interception, and a forced fumble were among the accomplishments he accomplished.
