Directions
A food processor works great for me to turn Oreos into fine crumbs, but a strong blender will also do. Save about two tablespoons of the crumbs to decorate the balls. Then, put the rest of the crumbs in a large bowl and mix them together.
1
Mix the cream cheese and Oreo crumbs together. For quick work, use a hand-held electric mixer. But you can also do it with a wooden spoon and some upper body strength.
2
Scoop the mixture out with a measuring tablespoon or a cookie scoop, and then roll it into balls. Put them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
3
Lay out all of the Oreo cream cheese balls on the baking sheet. Then, freeze them for about 20 minutes. They need to get a little firmer before being dipped in chocolate. If you don't, they'll be too soft.
4
After the balls have cooled a bit, melt the chocolate in the microwave and begin dipping them! Use the extra crumbs, sprinkles, or your favourite topping to cover them as you're making them.
5
When you have finished dipping all of the Oreo balls in chocolate, place the baking sheet back in the refrigerator so that the chocolate can harden.
