New York judge finds Donald Trump liable for fraud

LET'S START

After a judge in New York found Donald Trump and his adult sons guilty of fraud, the Trump Organization's registration was revoked .

Trump family had presented fraudulent financial statements for nearly a decade..

New York's attorney general's office and the ex-president were ready to go to trial in a civil action.

Judge Arthur Engoron's ruling came just days before the trial was to begin.

Summary judgment was granted on Attorney General Letitia James's motion after Engoron found Trump, his sons, and others "to be liable as a matter of law for persistent violations".

He concluded that the Trumps had been routinely deceiving lenders and insurers with fake financial statements for the better part of a decade.

Mar-a-Lago and Seven Springs on financial documents that he used repeatedly in business were decisively rejected by the court.

James said in a statement released Tuesday night. In the future, "We look forward to presenting the rest of our case at trial."
