San Francisco's 34-31 NFC Championship Game victory against the Detroit Lions was highlighted by Fred Warner's all-around performance on the field. Warner recorded a game-high thirteen tackles in the 49ers' historic triumph.
Warner became the 49ers' all-time leader in postseason tackles with 84 after adding 13 more to his career total.
The previous record holder was NaVorro Bowman (78). Additionally, with those tackles, Warner tied his career best for most in a playoff game.
Warner had 71 postseason tackles into Sunday's game against the Lions, tying him with Patrick Willis for fourth all-time. He finished the game with 103 tackles, passing Ken Norton (73) for the team record
The addition of seven tackles by Dre Greenlaw brought his postseason total to 69, putting him in sixth place all-time for the 49ers.
The 49ers' defense had a rough first half, giving up 148 yards on the ground at a rate of more than seven yards per rush. However, in the second half, Warner and the rest of San Francisco's defense were able to contain Detroit's potent offense.
With only 34 running yards in the second half of Sunday's game, the Lions' offense managed to score just seven points.
Warner explained to NBC Sports Bay Area's Jennifer Lee Chan what he told his teammates in the locker room at halftime following the game.
