Direction

Winter without gingerbread?  Cake, cupcakes, cookies, and houses are all favourites for this flavour.  Add gingerbread cinnamon rolls to your baking list this season.

1

The same delicious flavour in warm, gooey breakfast rolls for the whole family.  Prep them the night before for a lovely breakfast treat in an hour.

2

No initial hydration, letting the water sit, or worrying about its temperature.  Instant yeast eliminates such variables.  Keep yeast in the fridge to prolong its shelf life and leavening ability.

3

Soft, pillowy, delicate. Each cinnamon roll bite is delicate and fluffy! Texture and gooey centers make them enticing.

4

Sour cream isn't usually on bread.  For several reasons, I added sour cream to these cinnamon rolls.  The dough tastes more complex with sour cream's acidity and tanginess.

5

Extra fat adds richness.  Finally, sour cream moistens dough.Molasses is essential to gingerbread.  The dough becomes a dark, rich colour, but more importantly, it gets that gingerbread flavour that complements the spices.

6

Best flavour comes from unsulphured molasses.  The bitterness of blackstrap molasses would not go well in these rolls.
