S’mores bars recipe

Homemade s'mores bars contain graham cracker dough, marshmallow cream, and two chocolates. Avoid the campfire and make these!

– 1 cup all-purpose flour spooned and leveled (125 grams) – ¾ cup crushed graham cracker crumbs (90 grams) – ½ teaspoon baking powder – ¼ teaspoon salt – ½ cup unsalted butter softened (115 grams) – ⅔ cup packed light brown sugar (135 grams) – 1 large egg at room temperature – 1 large egg yolk at room temperature

Ingredient

– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract – 1 (7-ounce) jar marshmallow creme – 3 milk chocolate bars (I used Hershey’s bars) – ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips optional

Direction

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Leave enough parchment paper or aluminum foil to line an 8-inch square baking tray for easy removal. Reserve nonstick cooking spray.

1

In a large basin, mix flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder, and salt. Reservé. Combine butter and brown sugar in another large basin. Mix egg, yolk, and vanilla.

2

Add dry ingredients slowly. Flatten ⅔ of the dough equally in the pan. Cover cookies with marshmallow cream. Spread marshmallow creme with nonstick spatula or spoon.

3

Place quartered Hershey's bars atop marshmallow creme. Flatten and top with remaining cookie dough. Some marshmallow creme and chocolate should be visible.

4

Sprinkle chocolate chunks and press gently. Brown and stiffen bars gently in 28–35 minutes. Cool baked goods on a wire rack. Enjoy cutting into bars after cooling!
