Bolognese Sauce In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat olive oil on medium. Dice onions and cut garlic. Sauté onions for 2-3 minutes to soften.

Break up the ground meat with a spoon until browned and done. Add crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly.

Add the water (or broth) and boil for a few minutes to decrease. Cover, lower the heat, and simmer the sauce for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Longer simmering enhances taste.

Prepare Spaghetti Bring a large saucepan of salted water to boil.

Cook spaghetti al dente according to package instructions in boiling water. This usually takes 8-10 minutes. Drain pasta and set aside.
