To make strawberry frosting at home, you only need a few simple things. For summer, this frosting is great on cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods.
INGREDIENTS
– 1 (1-ounce) bag freeze-dried strawberries (28 grams)– 1 cup unsalted butter softened (2 sticks; 230 grams)– 3 cups powdered sugar (360 grams)– 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream or milk (45 ml)– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract– ⅛ teaspoon salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Blend freeze-dried strawberries into a powder in a blender or food processor. Set aside. Beat the butter on medium speed in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or a large bowl with a handheld mixer until smooth.

Add one cup of powdered sugar at a time on low speed, mixing well after each addition. Add strawberry powder, heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and salt and mix on low-medium speed until combined, scraping bowl sides as needed.

Either use it right away to frost cupcakes, cakes, and other baked goods, or put it in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it.
