What You Should Know About The Upcoming 'Ring Of Fire' Solar Eclipse

A 'ring of fire' solar eclipse is set to occur on June 10, 2021.

This type of eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, but doesn't completely cover the sun.

As a result, a bright ring of sunlight remains visible around the moon's silhouette.

The 'ring of fire' eclipse will be visible in parts of Canada, Greenland, and Russia, as well as in the northeastern United States and northern Asia.

Observers outside of the path of annularity will still be able to see a partial solar eclipse.

It's important to view the eclipse safely, using special solar filters or by projecting the image of the sun onto a surface.

The next 'ring of fire' solar eclipse won't occur until 2023.
